24 Jun 11:41 We have started doing a bit of work with Flex, being a CF house mainly. The enhanced UI that we can generate with Flex and the ease of which it talks to CF is just awesome. We are writing full applications, using.1. Flex Front End2. ColdFusion Back End3. ColdFusion Report Builder for Reporting.I have to say, that developing web based real word data centric applications like this is working out better than I had hoped. At some point in the future I might post some screen shots. 18 Apr 09:49 We are very pleased to announce the launch of http://FlexCF.com this is a sister site for http://LearnCF.com and focuses on Flex application development with a ColdFusion backend. There are seven tutorials published on launch, with more to come. These sites are Not for Profit community sites, you can contribute tutorials. All costs for hosting & development of these sites are provided free by the operators. Any revenue generated will be used to purchase prizes for tutorial authors. 10 Jan 18:36 I did this once before, but somehow lost it, so did it again in Flex. The original Flash 9 version was almost identical. I've made this version available with View Source enabled, so you can pick on my code if you like. (Right Click on the Timer to view source)http://flex.fraser.id.au/BlindTimerFlex/INSTRUCTIONS.1. Enter the Minutes, how often blinds increase.2. Enter the starting small blind amount.3. Tick if you want the blinds to balance to 250 once at 200 or higher.4. 13 Aug 20:02 I wanted a Poker Blind timer for the poker night with the Guys, did a quick search and couldn't find anything that was even half decent. So I thought I'd write one, I started in Javascript, then lost interest quickly, then whipped it up in Flash using ActionScript 2. I got that working using timers, but wasn't really happy, found that a 1 second timer isn't very accurate.I then rewrote it in Flash CS3 and ActionScript 3. This time using Date object thus keeping the countdown in sync with the clock. 4 Apr 04:24 Buy them from the US instead, after all you just really need the key. Current version of Coldfusion 7 Standard is $1,299 US Coldfusion 7 Standard is $2,255 AU With an exchange rate of $0.81 cents, the Australian price should be $1,603 AU. So where is the extra $652.00 going, who knows i'm sure they will give some lame reason such as shipping, although I can almost guarentee that these are manufactured somewhere in Asia. So shipping to AU should be less expensive. 29 Mar 05:48 I am looking for speakers for the Victorian User Group (Australia), held third Thursday of each month. Specifically looking for talks on Coldfusion and related products. But open to suggestions, all things from frameworks, to best pratices. If you have a topic and are prepared to present (in person). Then drop me an email or comment here. 16 Mar 00:54 I want right click support for flash, have several applications we are looking to redevelop in Flash or Flex and wish to use the right mouse button. While I understand that they probably don't support it so that it's cross platform and Mac's don't have a right mouse button, if I want to develop an application that uses it, I should be able to and Mac users can Apple click or whatever they need to do. 2 Mar 19:28 Ok, So I don't want to post when ever this number changes, but just in case people have been watching and saw nothing happening, well there were server issues resulting from change of IP address with Providor. Added to this I was on leave and didn't realise it wasnt working until a couple days ago, back today and all resolved. PS: Countdown is now at 7 www.cf2flex. 13 Feb 17:48 This thing is getting close now. I was inspired by the cfeclipse countdown to setup some complex puzzle, but thought my time would be best spent pulling the finishing pieces together. This is a training site that will aim to teach ColdFusion developers Flex2 and also to teach Flex2 developers how to talk to ColdFusion, thus the domains http://www.cf2flex.com and http://www.flex2cf.com Initial version will have 1. Several simple training videos 2. A blog for all anouncements 3. 6 Feb 12:28 I have decided to not move to Flex. Although it's a good technology with great features and a complete IDE, i've decided to wait to see what Coldfusion 8 will bring me. Coldfusion is so good at doing things easily and with the promise of so many new features, I really can't justify changing paths until I see what it has to offer. I'm kind hoping for the ability to develop Flex style apps using CF code, but I might be pushing my luck. |
