About month ago I went up to the city to record some video demos for the Adobe site. These are more polished than the ones I do at gotoAndLearn() and are even shot against a green screen. In this video I show how to integrate PHP and Flex together using XML. It’s not often that I do stuff in Flex but I do open it from time to time.

I just received the second issue of Flash & Flex Developer Magazine in the mail. This magazine is the only one that is devoted entirely to what we do. You can find the first issue in bookstores right now if you live in the US. This second issue is quite a bit better than their first attempt and contains some great tutorials and sample code. Fellow Platform Evangelist, James Ward wrote an in-depth article on Adobe AIR which covers how to get started with most of the APIs.

I just finished uploading a new tutorial to gotoAndLearn() which focuses on using Flex to edit the ActionScript code in your Flash CS3 projects. This workflow is far from perfect, but it can be done without much extra work. Many editors including FDT and FlashDevelop have much better integration with the Flash IDE, but Flex is still a great place to code for Flash. Flex obviously also gives you the ultimate environment for creating Flex applications which is a major benefit if you plan to do both.

I’m finally releasing my highlights video from leg 1 of the OnAIR Bus Tour. This video combines all of the webcam photos taken on the bus with a bunch of live action footage that I shot over the 2 weeks. Special guest stars include Robert Scoble and Kevin Lynch.
