 | 6 Oct 21:01 I've decided to make this post because recently I'm receiving a lot of questions from our clients about how BlazeDS web messaging differs from the messaging service in LiveCycle Data Services ES. The answer is pretty simple and well explained by Adobe on the FAQ page (you can read it at the end of this post). But a point of confusion is probably the Adobe LiveCycle Data Services Community Edition licensing against the standard Adobe LiveCycle Data Services and BlazeDS. 2 Oct 05:52 I'm just back home from Brighton where I've been part as a speaker of the FlashOnTheBeach conference. Tomorrow I want to find the time to make a great summary of the event and share my thoughts. Now I feel melancholy thinking about the great moments I had. So I thought to watch the FOTB Video Presentation video. 30 Sep 01:40 At the Flash on The Beach's keynote this morning John kicked off the conference and made some cool announcements. One for all is the next location for Flash On the Beach (aka FOTB) 2009 : Miami. It's amazing. Tickets will go on sale in November so you have to wait. John is like the Flash Player: everywhere, anywhere (other than ! His conference is getting bigger and better year by year ! 26 Sep 22:12 Yesterday I've blogged on using the Bookmarks View in Flex Builder. I've found another cool feature you can use with Bookmarks to associate a custom keyboard shortcut to create a bookmark. 25 Sep 20:46 I'm setting up the demo assets I'll show in my speech at the FOTB conference in Brighton. In a presentation where the speaker has to show a lot of code buried in several different classes it's extremely useful to have the ability to quickly access to the right line of code. 18 Sep 02:42 I'm so excited that the upcoming O'Reilly AIR Cookbook for which I'm one of the author has got a front cover ! Thoroughly vetted by Adobe's AIR development team, Adobe AIR Cookbook addresses fundamentals, best practices, and topics that experienced web developers and application designers have inquired about most. 13 Sep 02:32 Today I've posted on Comtaste's blog how to monitor the connection against TCP/IP socket endpoints in AIR using JavaScript. Adobe AIR gives you the ability to use socket connections for push-model connectivity. In this context it can be necessary to have to connect to a specific port of a server. A classic scenario is the one in which the application has to send an email using the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). This text protocol initiates a TCP connection to the server’s port 25. | | |
